KAIZEN Lean Material Handling
Lean Material Handling Workshop
The KAIZEN Lean Material Handling workshop will teach participants how to deliver materials to the floor with greater frequency and productivity, thereby reducing shop floor inventory of raw materials and WIP. This two-day KAIZEN Lean Material Handling workshop is ideal for any organization that employs material handlers to deliver product throughout the organization. A simulation is used to demonstrate the chaos and inefficiency of traditional material handling methods. Material handlers will be able to relate to the chaotic manner in which materials are delivered, while supervisors and operators will be able to relate to the amount of late and/or incorrect deliveries. During the workshop, participants will design a Lean Material Handling route, which will be completed at a regular pitch interval by a material handler. In designing this route, workshop participants will also be eliminating waste within the material handler's duties, thereby increasing productivity.
Learning Objectives
- Review basic lean concepts
- Review several KAIZEN Lean Material Handling systems
- Simulate a KAIZEN Lean Material Handling system
- Design a KAIZEN Lean Material Handling system within your facility
