Peter Corbyn
Senior Advisor - Energy Efficiency
Peter has been involved with energy efficiency and climate change issues for 15 years. He has implemented the first Employee Energy Awareness Program in Ontario in 1992; sitting on the National Industry Issue Table for Climate Change in 1998, 1999; and writing a book for industry on energy efficiency in 2000.
Peter has given over 90 presentations regarding environment and energy related issues including since 1993. He is one of only 21 Canadians trained by Al Gore to present ‘An Inconvenient Truth’ live. Peter has given the presentation over 45 times between January and June of this year for over 9,500 people in New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Ontario and Newfoundland and Labrador.
Peter launched The Earth Institute in 2006 to help Canadian homeowners, small business owners and large organizations reduce their greenhouse gas emissions. He was recently awarded The 2007 National Clean Air Day Award for Excellence in Energy Efficiency Outreach.
Peter has long recognised the link between Lean and reduced energy consumption and is actively engaged in helping companies realize the social, political, and economic benefits of greenhouse gas reductions.
Peter graduated with a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of New Brunswick in 1987 and lives with his family in Fredericton, New Brunswick.
